For Registered Nurses & Midwives
The Nursing and Midwifery Council introduced its revalidation framework in April 2016. Understanding how mandatory training fits into that requirement is important for all registered practitioners.
NMC revalidation requires registered nurses and midwives to complete 35 hours of continuing professional development over each three-year registration period, of which at least 20 hours must be participatory learning.
Attendance at our all-in-one-day NHS Mandatory Training programme constitutes participatory CPD. The certificate issued on completion documents the modules covered, hours completed, and the accrediting body — all information required for a valid revalidation submission.
Certificates may be submitted directly as CPD evidence to support your revalidation portfolio. We recommend retaining the original certificate and a copy of the course programme for your records.
